QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q: WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO CREATE?

A: When I need an extra dose of creativity, I revisit my collection of childhood drawings. It reminds me of where my passion for the arts all began. My inspiration always came from a place of pure joy and passion. Also, through exploration. The best work is created when an artist allows themselves to explore their passions.

Q: WHO ARE YOUR ARTISTIC INSPIRATIONS?

A: Rosie Butcher for her simplified, yet whimsical illustrations of animals. Her color choices are impeccable. Becca Clason for her never ending creativity. Lauren Hom for her instantly noticeable, quirky style. Laura Price for her detailed background paintings and fearless determination. Lastly, Pascal Champion for his illustrations of everyday life that come alive through his use of color.

Q: WHEN DID YOU REALIZE YOU WANTED TO PURSUE A PROFESSION IN THE ARTS? HOW DID YOU KNOW YOUR PATH?

A: From a young age, I knew I would end up doing something creative. As a child, I was always creating something new and exploring one crazy idea after the other. My journey began when I realized I loved to draw. From there, I threw around many possibilities in my head. I fancied the idea of fashion design, interior design, and creating movies. I also write short stories for fun.

Q: WHAT HELPED YOU DEVELOP AS AN ARTIST?

A: Through appreciating struggles as much as celebrating successes.

Q: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUNG ARTISTS?

A: Fuel your creative outlet with another thing you enjoy doing. Whether it be learning something new, or taking up a new hobby, you will always be energized and ready to tackle your next big project.
